# Automatic backups to a SFTP, DAV or Samba server

As suggested here → [Migrate DNS domain name of your own server - #8 by Simon](https://support.delta.chat/t/migrate-dns-domain-name-of-your-own-server/3295/8) I’m creating a feature proposal for automatic backups.

From my point of view, uploading backups of local messages to a remote SFTP servers on a scheduled basis should be enough. DC could even use the encryption keys to access the SSH server if that would make things easier.
