The mic on the Mac or the iPhone does not seem to be detected by DeltaChat, hence no sound from the Mac / iPhone to the other side.

Do things work fine with other messengers / video call services? Have you checked if you’ve given mic permission?

They do. And I checked that Delta Chat has access to the mic, in the Privacy & Security section under the list of apps that is allowed to use it.

Maybe try recording a voice message in Delta Chat?

Good suggestion. I tried to record a voice message on Delta Chat on my mac and nothing is recorded, the mic levels are not showing incoming signal.

OK, good to know. Maybe there is also something useful in the logs? Especially when you start recording the message. Look for “media”, “audio”, etc. And how about recording a voice message on iOS?
