Do you agree that text randomized by a chatbot should be banned from this forum?

All it does is inflating an originally 5-line question into 5 pages while making the question more vague and wastes time of anyone who is reading it.

I don’t see it happen often, but I’ve just encountered a topic like that here. Further possible tools to aid in future detection:

While I don’t like that myself, I don’t think it will help to ban that.

I don’t see why this possibility should be approached by policing, instead of using the built-in system for flagging inappropriate content and let moderators do their job.

I didn’t like the reply you posted to that topic.

Being verbose can be disruptive, especially when new users think they can infodump the forum without taking the time to learn how the community uses the space here. However this should be taken with a grain of salt. Especially since it turned out to be a genuine AI-free message.

Just a quick fact check: nobody has proven anything and most bloggers are aided by chat bots as of 2026.

And if you think that sharing such an objective observation is considered offensive, abusive or hateful, you clearly haven’t seen messages of any of those categories in the past, so I honestly envy you.

The Merlinux terms of service already prohibits posting such content, so I guess we are good then and ought to keep ourselves to the existing rules:
