Another example was the public groups bot website that provided a form of chat discovery. It is offline now due to lack of moderation, but it may inspire you also then:
“Strangers are just friends you haven’t met yet.”
(proverb)
The Public Groups bot is a nice tool to create public channels, where any Delta Chat user can join - even if you don’t know each other yet.
You can see the existing public groups bots here: Public Groups bot instances list - #2 by cregox
This post shows three things:
How you can join public groups
How you can start a public group
How to run it
How Can I Join a Public Group?
As a user, you open a website - it shows a login page…
So there was this post recently about the new Public Groups Bot , but there were still no instances. OTOH, the SimpleBot by @adbenitez has such a list I thought, let’s change that.
So I set up the (probably) first instance of the public groups bot. You can find it at https://publicgroups.0x90.space/ . It’s open, just login with Delta Chat and join the first group I opened, or open new ones!
If you also run a public groups instance, just post a comment below
A still living example of using your Delta Chat profile to register on a third party community is Pixel Social. It is special in that the service offers a webxdc interface:
