Migration when original server is down?

• Android 2.57.0
• Desktop v2.53.0

Expected behavior

• My current relay (bcc . chat) has been down the last couple of days, so I’d like to migrate to a different relay.
• I followed the tutorial and How to migrate your profile to another relay (version 2.33)
• After the relay was added on my phone, it should also get added on my desktop

Actual behavior

• The relay is not added on my desktop, only on my phone, and there is no synchronization.

Steps to reproduce the problem

1. Have your relay go down
2. Add a relay on one device
3. Open delta on another device, and see that it has not been added.

Not an official guide, but you can

1. Add a relay on the first device.
2. On your other devices, start the new “log in” process (“Add Profile”), select “Add as Seconds Device”.
   (This will result in these second devices having two instances of the same profile)
3. When successful, delete the original (duplicate) profile on your secondary devices.

“Add as Second Device”, as well as transferring a backup, will transfer the whole profile database, which includes the relay list.

The reason why the devices didn’t sync for you is because they just have nothing to connect to each other over. If the relay wasn’t down yet then the new relay list would get synced.

By which you mean “delete delta’s data and start anew”, correct? There is no way to delete my data directly from delta? Like, on debian I would be deleting ~/.config/DeltaChat/ and starting the application again?

No, I mean click “Add Profile”. On Desktop it’s this “plus” button, on Android you get there by tapping your avatar:
