I partially agree with this idea, but many forums have already migrated to Discourse, so being against Discourse in my opinion makes no sense. However, this is interesting to think about, in forums that still only use maillists. So, in this second case, it would be interesting to have a web index of public chats via mailing list.
What you said here, I somehow also asked here: Is there any way to anonymously post technical questions here in delta-chat?
I asked if there would be a possibility to just use the email instead of the discourse. An initial solution would be to only use temporary emails to ask anonymous technical questions.
But your point is interesting: why not just use email and not git, discourse?
my general conclusion is:
- Maybe git is more for development, Discourse is more for a forum, because email lacks many of the things Discourse does, like a feature voting system or built-in plugins.
