I’m currently observing a Delta Chat user in a situation where there might be abuse and device access involved, but nothing has happened yet but there is a risk that could be done in the future, so the typical advice to give here would be to get a new clean device and to change the password.
This reminded me that Delta Chat doesn’t allow this still (or does it?), since the equivalent would be to replace the identity key. Throwing away the entire account is a bit of a nuclear option, and I think there are plenty situations in life where a change of password or identity key makes more sense if an acute takeover hasn’t happened yet.
(Sorry if this topic isn’t helpful, I just wanted to provide this use case and at the same time, was hoping to hear if there is perhaps any timeline for a consideration.)
Oh, and if there is a workaround for this other than throwing away the account, I would be curious to hear.
