My biggest dream for autocrypt or its successor (not just Delta Chat but for all sorts of MUAs) would be to address MitM and for there to be some sort of Double Ratchet Algorithm - Wikipedia. Now, maybe that wouldn’t necessarily make sense as an EU sponsored project since, as much as I love the EU 
it does seem to have kind of mixed feelings about encrypted messaging.
