There is a “resend” function, why not implement the general “resend the entire chat” function, as a pull-up of the story for newly arrived users in the chat group.
Resend currently allows to resend only your own messages. You can use forwarding and forward a few recent messages to the same chat.
I understand this, it’s just a long time to highlight all the messages. Here would be a button to “Resend all your messages.” It’s good that those who already have them won’t get them. And the fact that it is a long process is not very good.
yeah, there is no lack of ideas around that. the current “resend” was added to just have something, it is know to have issues and is not primary UI therefore. big usability issue is that one often wants to resend the messages of other users - eg. the original sender of the editor may have left the chat …
one could also ask on adding a user whether the added user should get the last N message or so.
however, it is more complex as it appears at a first glance, and it just not done. all feature proposals are in competition with each other about the limited resources
