Delete message directly from notification

Expected behavior

This could be especially useful for spam messages or automated emails appearing as chats.

It would be useful to have a “Delete message” action directly in the notification.
Currently notifications often offer actions like:
Mark as read
Reply
Adding a Delete message option would allow users to quickly remove unwanted messages (spam, bot messages, accidental messages) without opening the app.
This would make notification management faster and more convenient.

Actual behavior

Currently it is not possible to delete a message from the notification.
Users must:
Open Delta Chat
Open the conversation
Delete the message manually
This takes several steps for a simple action.

Do even mail clients do this?

I am pretty sure that we don’t want this on by default at least. Too many buttons + too easy to delete by accident.

There’s always the recycle bin where you can undo deletions if you misclick or make up your mind after you wake up the next day all sober. Which takes me to: why doesn’t DC have a recycle bin folder…?

Spike does this
Gmail allows you to set up notifications very finely.

As well as gestures swiping right or left to Gmail app do this or that action. But that’s another feature
