Delta.chat domain blocked by free Wi-Fi providers [FedEx]

The other day I tried to access the delta.chat web site via the free Wi-Fi at a FedEx office location was surprised to find that it was blocked.

I would assume that FedEx is probably using some type of blocklist that Delta Chat somehow made it onto.

Has anyone run into this issue and if so did you find the correct party to complain to? Were you able to find out the providers publicly shared rationale for blocking delta.chat?

Does it open if you switch to a different resolver or you add its IP to your hosts file manually?

It would be great if you could run a full probe on their network:

Have not tried that, will test again next time I’m on site. Thanks for the troubleshooting suggestions.

I’m not a FedEx employee but I’m pretty sure that some companies basically carpet-block everything that is not Google or Microsoft Outlook (given that it’s even a blacklist instead of a whitelist).

In the past, some form of primitive filters would also block URL (and domains) based on regexp or keywords. Disallowing anything that contains *chat* during working hours sounds like a reasonable countermeasure as such sites usually contain adult content.
