DeltaTouch: Help testing calls 📞

As other DC clients, DeltaTouch v2.220 comes with experimental calls support. To test the new call feature, go to Settings → Advanced, enable “Experimental Features” and then “Debug calls”. You will then see a new :telephone_receiver: button in the header of 1:1 (direct/private) chats, click there to start calling!

NOTE 1: It is a know issue that outgoing video from Ubuntu Touch devices does not work at the moment, and incoming video only works sometimes. Please report if audio is not working though.

NOTE 2: report your experience using different networks etc. did you manage to establish the p2p call or was not possible? tests using mobile data are appreciated, but may consume a lot of data as not yet optimized

I have tested it with my [Xiaomi Mi A2]
(Xiaomi Mi A2 (Mi 6X) - Full phone specifications) - ubuntu touch 20.04
and it is working

I have tested with fresh install from OpenStore.

I have tested these:

  • :white_check_mark: voice going & comming
  • :white_check_mark: same network call works
  • :white_check_mark: if call comming from android the video also works
  • :white_check_mark: call ring (notification) works

I have tested it with android 14 device

With /e/OS version 3.2 and Android 13 doesn’t work. The call starts, but I can’t ear anything

Just to be sure, you are trying to establish calls between

  • DeltaTouch and /e/OS
  • DeltaTouch and Android 13
    ?

The call is between Google Pixel 5 with /e/OS v.3.2 and with Android 13 and another phone Xiomi Redmi 9T with Android 11

Ah, so you’re using the Android app, right? This thread is about the client DeltaTouch. Maybe you can head over there: Help testing upcoming Delta Chat release with calls 📞! - #45 by user.123

Yes I’m using Delta Chat Android app downloaded from F-droid

Then I’d suggest you transfer your post to the thread linked in my previous message
