Delta Chat Desktop 2.25.3[1] has lost it’s markdown parser. The toggle’s nowhere in the settings too, so it’s not a malfunction. Is there a reason to throw away such a feature?
Or maybe an earlier version, unfortunately I haven’t kept an eye on it. Before that I noticed that only block quotes didn’t render. ↩︎
yes, the “markdown” experiment has been stopped.
note, it was not available on mobile, and “experiments” are in general subject to be changed or replaced. that happened now, as being hard to maintain, standing in the way of doing formatting on other UI.
for now, other things are prioritized, among them calls, multi-transport, broadcast channels, minimizing metadata visible to servers, and churning through a long list of UX/UI small-issues/shortcomings on all platforms.
many user and dev still want some way of formatting. tho no priority currently, this is probably not the last word spoken
