The ellipsis is not clickable, it just looks like the rest of the message was cut and dropped.

Ability to edit a long sent text

Expected behavior A long sent text can be edited. Actual behavior A long sent text cannot be edited.

there is no explicit length limit in general, however, the truncation has some issues, as pointed out above. this is known and we aim to improve the situation, see eg. long messages get converted to html type and this is problematic · Issue #7718 · chatmail/core · GitHub
