I don’t know if this is a bug or a technical limitation of webxdc apps, but the emoji button is missing from the keyboard inside webxdc apps.
What platform are you on? Delta Chat does not do anything specific with regards to the emoji button on the keyboard inside of webxdc apps.
This is on Android. I don’t know why it happens but I can see the emoji button when I use Delta Chat normally then it always disappears from the keyboard when I open a webxdc app. Is it just my phone that does this?
This is not the case on my keyboard app. There is an emoji button inside of the Editor webxdc app.
You might need to check your keyboard app settings.

It turns out my keyboard has a hidden setting “always show emoji button” which then shows the emoji button in webxdc apps if enabled. I didn’t know about this before because I never needed this setting to use emojis in normal messages, only for webxdc apps. So it works, I’m just not sure why the keyboard behaves different for webxdc apps.
This is probably not about webxdc apps specifically, but the inputs. Keyboards behave differently depending on the type of an input, i.e. URL, password, search, etc.
