Hello everyone! Please help me figure this out. I can’t understand why the message sent to myself has been re-encrypted (there is no green lock). Laptop version 1.48. I haven’t changed the settings.
email provider? maybe right click → message info has more useful info?
Mail provider: posteo, disroot
I used to save very important messages for myself, now I’m afraid to do that
Please help me figure this out
Messages saved to “Saved Messages” should be encrypted, you can see it by looking for small green padlock. In future versions there will also be a green checkmark, but this is just a visual change.
What do you mean by “message sent to myself”? Did you send the messages from Disroot to Posteo or vice versa, or to “Saved Messages” chat?
There is a green encryption icon in chat mail, but not in regular mail. Check how it is for you?
the encryption icon means both signed and encrypted, if a message does not have have one of the two, then the padlock is not shown.
Simon, what needs to be done so that messages sent to oneself are re-signed and encrypted?
What do you mean by messages sent to oneself?
o “Saved Messages” chat
Does it happen on Disroot, on Posteo, or both?
How many devices do you have? Does at least one of them (e.g. sending device) display green padlock?
Could you send a message to self, then save the log and send it to delta@merlinux.eu or PM me on the forum?
Make sure you have “Prefer End-to-End Encryption” setting enabled in Advanced settings, could be this happened because it is disabled.
This happens on both.
This only happens if I try to send myself a message. Saved messages
Both accounts (Posteo and Disroot) or both devices (if you have more than one, e.g. a phone or another laptop)?
We really need a log to debug this.
This happens on one device. Where can I get the log?
It is in the menu:
View → Developer → Open Current Logfile
Found it. Should I send it here as a file?
