File Sync - export files on phone storage directly

File Sync is great for sending big files. On Desktop’s and iOS’s Delta you can store them directly to your file system.

For Android this is not possible at the moment.

You could send it to a chat and then export it but as File Sync is necessary for big files this would need three times of your storage instead of two. Additionally, it’s a hack and a long way some do not understand and then using Dro*box or worse..

Expected behavior

Be able to choose whether exporting file to storage or sending to chat if webxdc.sendToChat() is called

Actual behavior

Only “send to chat” is possible.

this was added to 2.25.0, which should be available in most stores meanwhile.

Oh yeah it’s possible :smiley:
I had 2.25.0 but was not able to detect it :zany_face:
Maybe it’s only me (and another person) but maybe it would be easier to find it if it would be a download icon next to the search icon. The menu has only one entry, anyways :sweat_smile:

i think, the issue of “not finding” is harder if one is aware that it was not working before. one does not always check all menus, contexts, swipes for changes.

for new users, who have no prejudices, it is far easier to discover - as the menu is one of the few things where they can find what they’re looking for.

so, let’s see of new users have the same issue and reconsider then
