What is the suggested way to add users to a classic emal group chat on Android?
Before 2.x it was by tapping the group name/subject.
It is no longer possible since DC 2.x. Removing users from email groups and deleting email addresses does not work too. Unfortunately, this also applies to the emoji avatars trick for non-DC users and the import of profile images from the Android address book.
The suggested way is to use the “Clone Group” feature (in the chat’s context menu).
I wouldn’t call this adding a member, but rather creating a new group with an additional member. This messes up the entire chat list. Without a different avatar, the two groups are also harder to distinguish.

“Clone Group” does not appear in the chat’s context menu.
From the list of chats I only see “Mute Notifications”, “Mark as Read”, “Add to Home Screen” and “Select All”.
From within the chat I only see “Search”, “Mute Notifications”, “Archive Chat” and “More Options”; “More Options” contains “Add Attachment”, “Clear Chat” and “Delete Chat”.
On Android it is available from the chat profile where you see the member list.
I checked, it is available since version 2.11.0 on Android. In 2.10.0 unencrypted chats cannot be cloned.
