Yes, I wasn’t thinking, as long as you are not using a Chatmail account that should work. With Chatmail you’d obvs get a “Encryption Needed: Invalid Unencrypted Mail”. The related link I posted was one using a Chatmail account in a non-DC client, which coloured my thinking.
