We use DeltaChat on our local network. We use a mail server. If DeltaChat is configured to move to the DeltaChat folder, and folder creation is disabled on the server, DeltaChat starts writing logs like crazy. It’s not a messenger anymore, it’s malware. In half a day, it’s 0.5 gigabytes of warnings and info. Is there a way to disable logging? This should be a user-defined option, or should it?
adding logging options is not planned, and options on that level of detail is not the idea of Delta Chat. if the log gets too full, one can consider to tweak the core library.
in this concrete case, if i read the post correctly, it is a correct error that is reported, maybe often, but still. fix would be to disable legacy “move to Delta Chat” (which will anyways be removed in one of the next versions)
Normal programs don’t write logs for no reason, because the user doesn’t need them. But DeltaChat, like crazy, writes logs. Simply because it doesn’t like something on the server. It bombards the server with DDoS requests and loads the SSD to 100 percent.
