How to empty chat-list

I have a lot of emails in my chat list, as I accidently chose to receive mails from my in-Box with Delta.chat.
Now I want to change and empty this list to start from new. But of cause I do not want to have all these emails deleted at the server.

Maybe the option in settings, to delete messages from device (time dependent) might be of help, good Hans.

I think deleting the chat should not delete messages from the server. You can try it on some small chat to test.

Safe option is to archive the chats you don’t want to see.

@link2xt Yes, correct deleting chats from the list does not mean they are deleted on the server.

@anon76174457 Yes, I guess the temporary change of the auto-delete settings to a short time span would have had the same effect, as it in the settings it is distinguished between deleting from the App or deleting from the server.

Regarding “archiving” … what does happen to a message, I have archived? Where will I find it? Where is it stored? What of the chat will be on the IMAP server?

It is just moved to a secondary chatlist for archived chats. Nothing happens to messages on the server.

“Archived” flag is not even synchronized across devices.
