Hello, I’m new to deltachat and I would like to have an option that only allows me to join a group if I explicitly use an invite link or get invited by a friend. This way I won’t be bothered by random group invitations or spam groups.
Right now, I still receive group invitations (even though I have to accept or decline them). Just receiving those spam invites is annoying and I would prefer to completely block such unwanted group invitations.
that is not a spam group, you were part of the group and apparently you just removed the group without leaving or due to how groups work in Delta Chat in a p2p way there was some problem synchronizing the state with peers and you just need to leave the group again
but for the actual spam groups: if you don’t want to be added to random groups by random people, don’t share your contact invite link in public spaces and don’t join such group with unknown/random people that then can start adding you to spam groups
