When getting an QR-image of an invitation, easy “click” to join, either automatical guided to qr-progress, or additional menu “scan”, and such as maybe mailto-link if receiver does not use DC.
Earlier my person also heavily suggested that “joining progress” should have on-the-way-option to install DC if not having yet.
There is no “mail me” QR share, right?
Actual (user) behavior
(better reaction on situation) “I don’t know what to do further when receicing a qr-pic…” (either as attachment on mail, or message on DC)
“I have no idea how to make use of this invitation and how to get DC”
“I would like to attach an qr-code instead of an email here, so that those interested, could gain DC on the way as well, but don’t know how, better to use this way of communication…”
while sending images around may be improved, it is always a bit unhandy.
links, as mentioned by @pichsi for simplex, and existent for many other messengers, are often a more handy and compatible approach.
indeed, we started “invite links” at GitHub - deltachat/invite: [wip] invite links for deltachat, eg. i could send the following link around on various channels (many apps even render a nice preview, as this forum) and ppl will even get instructions if they are not using Delta Chat yet:
however, the invite links are not fully finished yet. eg. qr codes are not yet shown, integration in Delta Chat is not done yet and there are some known bugs
