On other discourse forums you can reply to the notification email to reply to the topic.
Please enable this feature if possible @system

can’t tell how many times I was wishing this
I tried answering like 3 times like that and it never worked, I was expecting that feature because the Ionic forum has it, which is also using the https://www.discourse.org/ software. 
is this a duplicate of Allow replay via mail for the forum ?
It says ‘replay’ in the title so I can’t say for sure if it is
I enabled it, lets try if it works
