The dev-team-maintained list is here Chatmail: Relays.

Otherwise I’m not sure if we should be collecting the servers without the admins’ consent. Some of them might be secret for the purposes of censorship circumvention.

the reason one get to know is because admin promoted them in social media etc.

about circumvention, people can’t also use them anyways if they don’t know it because you don’t advertise them to avoid circumvention, kind of an egg and chicken problem

yes a FEW might manage to use some secret server when the situation comes, but meanwhile chatmail admins want their servers to be used and might actually take them down because of lack of adoption “ok I am paying for a VPS to run this service and in the end no one is using nor know it exist, so I will take it down”

there is really a too few relays, I would say let them be on the hundreds public, then if some circumvention is needed people can then spin up new secret instances or a few could be kept secret by their owners if they want to, but I find nonsensical to push back chatmail operators that are setting up instances and want them to be known and listed in the public relays page

Good then.

I’m not totally against it. I’m only saying that for each relay one should ensure that the relay is not supposed to be secret before publicizing it.

It’s always nice to know about new relays, and of couse it’s good to be aware if an admin intends a relay to be public or secret before promoting it. I could also understand if some admins prefer to maintain a semi-public relay, which is promoted in specific decentralized public spaces but not in a centralized list that can be easily monitored by censors.
