Not possible to implement my own PGP key to deltachat

tryied it on my iphone, on ubuntu etc.
told the problem chatcpt, they gave my a really good answer how to do it.
creating an PGP in another program and then, make it to an JSON data, so deltachat can go with this. no chance, tryied different things on ubuntu, did not work. if i want to implement a PGP code, they always search after an .tsr file or something. how can i do that. tried it for three hours now, have no ideas anymore

Yeah, I think ChatGPT is talking BS.

Are you trying to:

  1. import the public key of someone you want to talk to?
  2. import the keypair you want to use to encrypt your own messages, when you send them from an ordinary email account you already have?
  3. import a keypair you want to use when you send messages from an email account provided by Deltachat?

The idea came from the new Whatsapp announcment that they will make marketising and merch and so on…I was, with a few of my friends alwasy on Telegram or Signal. I am not perfekt in understandig data, but i always have some bad feelings, letting a third part(the messenger) encrypt and decrypt the texst. So since years i think about a messenger where you can implement you PGP (made with another program) and my partners also. So every of our texts will be encrypted with the recivers PGP and at arrivel decrypted so he can read this. Outherway round the same, writing a text, gets automaticaly encrypted with my public PGP and everthing is fine when its decrypted when i want to read it(sorry for explanaican, i am not here to tell you the basics of PGP .) no third party, who can fuck up things AND does not have the ability to read the messenges. Do not know if ithnik far to wide in this negative direction and, possibly they cannot read what i wrote. I simply what to get rid of the third party. So…i dreamed of a messenger, running on ios and android(so its really usefull) having ful self controll. But now, we are moving direction mail programs, should be ok too. Thats not the big difference. So, Minim, can you help me with my problems? So I don´t have to be awak all night and think of…uff, what did you there write,…and,. shit! i haven´t this writen in this messenger. Tomorrow 5 oćlock, police is on my door
P.S. it should be for ios and android in the first line
Nice greeting from
A 20 long user of Ubuntu, and still doen´t know what the fuck he actually does here

it is a little bit hard to follow your post, however, at a first glance, this is how Delta Chat uses PGP and how Delta Chat works. the only thing: forget about keys. for reasons you mentioned, Delta Chat does not talk about keys nor allows to mess around with them [1]

So, Minim, can you help me with my problems?

from your post, i did not really get what your problem is - but i am also not @Minim, maybe they can help better

I am also confused. Do you want 1,2,or 3?

Normally, a Deltachat client generates keys inside the Deltachat client, on your own computer. There is no central authority that knows your keys. Only you know your private key; only your contacts, the people you choose, know your public key.

Making PGP keys in another program, then importing them, is a lot of work and does not add security (unless you distrust the code of the Deltachat client, in which case you should not use it anyway). I don’t know why you want to do it, but you probably would be better off just using the keys that were automatically made.

If you don’t understand options 1, 2, and 3, then I recommend Deltachat’s default setup. Key management is hard to do manually. Deltachat is designed to make it easy.

Later, when you learn more, you might start using other programs that are harder to use but have more options.
