I would like to install Delat Chat. Should I use Obtainium or F-Droid? What are the differences in the apk file?

Obtainium downloads releases from GitHub. They are the same as in Google Play.
F-Droid version does not support push notifications (because they depend on Google services and libraries) and we don’t have control over the release process so it usually takes longer to get a release, sometimes weeks.

Just to add some nuance to this answer, while the F-Droid version does not support FCM push notifications, it does support IMAP push notifications. As long as your OS supports background network connections you can still receive push notifications with the F-Droid version, and the F-Droid version doesn’t contain the proprietary code blobs from Google.
