When I joined a new groupAll members will be added to the address book，But I don’t want to add the contact list of all group members,Especially in large group chats.That experience is too bad

Currently delta.chat is automatically added group members to contacts, I consider this an error. We are talking about privacy all the time and this, I consider, can say that this is lack of privacy. Someone can add me to a group and as it is not of my interest I go out but already all the members of the group have my email in their contacts.

We cannot simply stop adding contacts from groups to the contact list because this makes it very difficult to start chats in a scenario where you have only small groups, like your family and friends, the primary scenario Delta Chat is designed for. We generally don’t recommend using Delta Chat for large group chats, this was just added to the FAQ:

I have opened Separate collected contacts from the "contact list" for further discussion on what can be done to support both the requirement to have a clean “contact list” (address book) and not require that user manually adds each contact before it is available in the search.
