did you know with the latest Delta Chat releases (2.25.0 and above) if you are using Delta Chat with chatmail you basically have almost zero metadata on the server?

  • if you have a single device messages are deleted from server immediately after download
  • only metadata available in message is its size and the sender/receiver which if you and your peers use chatmail is just some random garbage ex j2ad5h8eq@example.com

UPDATE: with the next version even the recipient list will be encrypted so someone looking at the messages stored in the INBOX will not be able to even see to whom you sent the message to!

also when you send a message to a group, the receiving server of one member of the group will not know the full list of the people to whom you sent that message to!
