I mean a deltachat-tauri-$version.tar.gz like the deltachat-desktop-$version.tar.gz. It looks like all the -desktop release channels get tauri, except this one.

but i assume, you just wanted to bump your question ![]()
thing is, that we do not want to maintain and offer two similar packages in the long run - and just now, there more flaws with the tauri port than with the electron one [1] so that it does not make sense to have a comparable download offer, doubling support effort etc.
this may change in the future, if so, we might fade out electron. but we’re not there yet. it also depends on how the tauri project itself evolves.
in general: are you up for helping maintaining linux packages? iirc, there are always lots of things to do on that part, electron or not
eg. microphone and camera are not working, more at GitHub · Where software is built ↩︎
Hi! Thanks for the answer! Personally I don’t care about v/v support, but I understand the rationale, and I didn’t know tauri wasn’t there yet.
I can’t help on the project itself, I’ve already got more problems than energy to deal with them. If anything I’ll help with packaging for Slackware should problem arise.
