Restore Messages from Server (No Backup)

Hello All,

I wrecked my phone … and I don’t have a backup. I do have my keys. How can I reload all my messages from the server? Will it put them into the Groups properly, or will I have to go through my 1000’s of messages and resort them?

there is nothing official to download legacy messages from the server, but eg. this workaround [WORKAROUND] Make new Delta Chat installation import old messages from IMAP directory - #5 by fnadde42

Thanks … looks like it will bring all them back in as one group then? I’ll have to sort them again?

no. groups etc. should be recreated as well - but again, use that with a grain of salt
