Safety of Adding Contacts via QR Code vs Email Address in Delta Chat

I have a question regarding the security implications of adding contacts in Delta Chat. Is there a difference in security when adding a contact using a QR Code versus using an email address directly? It seems to me that using an email address might be susceptible to man-in-the-middle attacks. Should I therefore prioritize using QR Codes for adding contacts to ensure higher security?

Safety always depends on your threat model.
As long as you see those people in person or send the qrcode over a secure channel then you can scan the contact to verify the contact. Then you can create verified groups that can not fall back to being unencrypted when someone uses an email client again or during an attack.

Also scanning a qr code is more convenient than typing an email address.
