I would like to be able to select part of the text in a message. For example by long press followed by a second long press to select part of the text.
Currently I can only select and copy a whole message.
Just like Telegram.
yip, would be nice to have, as many things 
today working workarounds (thanks for the hints in a community chat):
on newer versions of android, if you copy any text you get a system pop-up offering you to edit the clipboard, and you can open that and select part of the text only
copy as usual, edit on pasting
sure, both do not work everywhere and always, but probably more often than not
The bad thing is that not everyone’s device works with the latest version of Android. It doesn’t work for me.
