Sending between gmail accounts taking more than half an hour

Sending from Android 1.40.0 to Version 1.40.4 (git: v1.33.0-320-g70746da6) App Image on OpenSUSE

Expected behavior
I sent 8 identical texts from the android app with one gmail address to the desktop app with a different gmail address. Encryption between these two was already established.

I expected them all to be sent, but…
Actual behavior

So far after over half an hour only three have arrived.

gmail might do rate limiting. gmail is not the best provider for chatting.
Maybe login into gmail webui and check there which emails were send.

BTW: a new version of deltachat desktop is available: 1.42.1
