I’ve downgraded to 1.54.0
and it works again
what can I do to get it work on 1.54.2?

there was an issue with OpenSSL in 1.54.2 (core 1.156.1), which is fixed with the just released and currently rolled out 1.54.3.

with chance, this also fixes your issue :slight_smile:

If you have a version from Google Play installed, you can upgrade directly from https://download.delta.chat/android/deltachat-gplay-release-1.54.3.apk without waiting.

I don’t use the playstore versions and google has no access to my devices :no_entry_sign:
my playstore is f-droid and for me that’s quite enough :wink:

I just saw that the latest release on github is 1.54.0.

where does the version 1.54.2 in F-Droid come from?

thanks a lot for writing this here - this issue took me few hours to troubleshoot before i realized its probably a delta chat which was broken, as stated before, 1.54.3 actually solves the problem.

just out of curiosity, how does one downgrade? f-droid doesn’t seem to support this currently, and i am afraid to uninstall and to loose the encryption keys.

yes realy, 1.54.3 solved the problem for me and “my” users …
Downgrade only works with root.
I doesn’t use phones without root , it is my phone …

You can export a backup before downgrading. Or better setup Delta Chat on desktop and transfer your profile there so you can see it is working.
