Stuck at "waiting to be added to group" for 3 days, incoming IMAP at 0%

I joined two groups via invite links. The admin approved me and I see the message “admin replied, waiting to be added to the group…” since March 7th — nothing has changed since then.
Outgoing messages work fine. But incoming sync is stuck at 0%:
nine.testrun.org: Updating… 2.89 MiB of 700 MiB used, 0%
I tried: restarting the app, rebooting the PC, with and without VPN. Nothing helps.
What can I do?

Delta Chat version

2.43.0 (Windows desktop)

Expected behavior

Receive messages in the groups I was invited to.

Actual behavior

Stuck at “admin replied, waiting to be added to the group…” since March 7th.
Incoming sync shows 0%: nine.testrun.org: Updating… 2.89 MiB of 700 MiB used, 0%

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Joined two groups via invite links
  2. Admin approved the request
  3. Message “admin replied, waiting to be added to the group…” appeared
  4. Nothing has changed since then (3 days)

It can happen that the invite link you clicked on has already expired or the whole group has been dissolved by today. Please ask for a new one from a member or ask them to add you directly without an invite. Note that invitations are only processed while both ends are online.

If the invite link does work for others, we can proceed with the investigation. Are the two of you on the same chatmail server? If no, have you tested that you can send private messages back and forth with users on that host? Lost or blocked secujoin messages may result in such a case, in which case deleting & rejoining might sometimes help (not sure whether you would need a new invite).
