Two small tweaks to prevent accidentally sending unencrypted messages

Don’t worry, I realize this topic is closed for now, and I don’t want to annoy anyone. But I had the idea and thought it made sense to post it in case communication with non-DC contacts becomes more of a priority again at some point. It is the same reason why I wrote this proposal:

Subject of emails

I have an idea how a subject could be implemented without having to change the UI. Essentially a subject is nothing more than a tag. DC-Desktop already supports hashtags. In my opinion, this is a very useful feature. The hashtag is underlined and clickable. After clicking on it, all messages in the chat containing this hashtag are displayed in the search window. To add a subject to an email to a non-DC contact, users could place a hashtag at the beginning of a message. Whenever DC detects such …

It’s about how the hashtag feature of DC-Desktop could be used for a subject in 1:1 chats.

Your example images are btw not snapshotting how it actually looks and changes when one starts typing etc.

I typed the word “Test” in all three versions and took a screenshot. Then I added the padlock and envelope icons. To do this, I had to shift the text slightly to the right.
