We are allowed to install any software in the office device, but, to connect to Internet/network specific permission has to be granted by IT department.
As delta chat is a sort of an email client only, will a specific network permission be required to use it?
ask your IT department. I don’t know how that restriction is implemented so I can’t help you.
Could be a permission management software on each device, or a proxy/blocked ports.
If thunderbird works, delta chat would probably also work as long as there is no special firewall blocking it from sending and receiving network traffic and email(IMAP & SMTP) ports are not blocked.
If you can install it, just try it out, if it doesn’t work ask your IT-department or provide us with more information.
