I was invited to a group that already has a lot of members. For example, more than 30. This group needs to be able to find people and message them directly. So, I need to message someone directly. The group members are sorted by their activity level. Even if I know a contact’s name, it’s very difficult to find them in such a list. If this contact hasn’t yet posted a message in the group or hasn’t been mentioned in the group, the search won’t be able to find them.
Therefore, contact search should be able to find people among group members. Or groups should have a search function for members.
I really hope this feature will be added. It’s essential for large groups.

Thank you for your reply.
Please clarify: the general search can’t find a group member who wasn’t mentioned in the group?
I’m not sure what you mean by “mention”, but currently the app’s “main” search will show all the people who you have ever been in contact with, i.e. shared a group with.
This confuses some people, so it might change in the future, but this is the case now.
I noticed that if I was added to a group after everyone else, and no one else had posted anything in my presence, the search wouldn’t find the group member.
But if a member did post something in the group, the search would find them.
If you think the search should find everyone, then a separate search within the group doesn’t seem necessary.
Currently, searching in the contact list is case-insensitive.
However, searching within a group is case-sensitive.
Could you please fix this so that searching for people is case-insensitive?
I’m not sure what you mean by this.
