Windows 11 + Avira = No Delta Chat?

Delta Chat version

Can not start Delta Chat. Windows desktop client installed today from the Windows Store (at least tried to).

Expected behavior

To see a nice Delta Chat window

Actual behavior

Displays error message that delta-chat-rpc.exe could not be found.
The problem is, that delta-chat-rpc.exe and package.json is in the quarantine of Avira.
In “quarantine” you can check those files and click “move out of quarantine” but then it says “can not move out of quaranite”.

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Install Windows 11
  2. Install Avira
  3. Install Delta Chat

Question

Does anyone have problems with Windows 11 + Avira, too?

I have checked the latest release with VirusTotal:

(file https://github.com/chatmail/core/releases/download/v1.159.5/deltachat-rpc-server-win64.exe)

It reports that “Avira (no cloud)” does not detect anything.

Could you download https://github.com/chatmail/core/releases/download/v1.159.5/deltachat-rpc-server-win64.exe directly and check with your setup of Avira?

If you are sure that your version of Avira detects it as malware, it is possible to submit a false positive with description to Submit Suspicious Files. Make sure to tell them which version of Avira you use and which version of the database.
