Would it reveal your IP address?

I haven’t looked into that yet, but my question is:

If Delta Chat is a layer on top of IMAP transport, how would you hide the originating IP address?

My understanding is that (the way POP/IMAP works) IP will be added by the IMAP server to “Received” and X-Headers.
Your recipient should have to problem by looking it up.

AFAIK, you cannot prevent your IP address from being sent by the mail provider when it wants to do so.

Look for providers that do not put your IP address in the mail header (e.g. Posteo in Germany).
