EDIT: I thought it was a bug with you having saved messages but they are not displayed. Are there saved messages when the phone is folded?

Yes, the messages are there when the phone is folded. I am unable to view any messages in a conversation that I have with someone when the phone is unfolded. If folded phones just aren’t supported given their limited marketshare, that’s okay!

I think it’s a bug if no messages can be seen at all when the phone is unfolded, hopefully someone will look into it if it is reproducible in the emulator. But I am pretty sure no developer has an actual foldable phone around.

@jfeversole Is it impossible to see any message at all when the phone is unfolded, even in existing chats? Does it help if you rotate the phone when it is unfolded so the fold line is not vertical but horizontal or vice versa?

That’s right, it’s impossible to see any messages in any of my conversations when the phone is unfolded. Rotation doesn’t change anything.

I wonder if this issue is specific to the OnePlus; the debug log I attached in the OP has several warnings/errors that call out “oplus” specifically.

AFAIK “RecyclerView” is the message list that “recycles” message boxes by reusing them for different messages as you scroll.
