Channel creators cannot add a description of their channel.
Explanation
I think a channel description, similar to a group description, would make sense. Channel creators could use it to share the purpose of their channel and information about themselves. Furthermore, DC channels would be functionally more similar to Telegram and WhatsApp channels, which have a channel description.
this will be so awesome, I have a channel and every time someone joins I have to manually go and resend a welcome message explaining a bit more what they can expect to see in the channel
good news: âchannel descriptionsâ as well as âgroup descriptionsâ are merged to core and will come with some of the next updates (probably not the 2.4x that is rolling already, but the next one) - stay tuned!
