Delta Chat in the "press"

Hi,

I was surprised to find no article on the English Wikipedia about either chatmail or Delta Chat. There’s a German Wikipedia article which was discussed here.

But when trying to draft one, I found it very hard to find coverage in significant media.

I sent an email to The Verge, because I think it’s one of the most relevant tech press out there.

Does anyone know of a good article covering Delta Chat or chatmail in “significant” press?

Cheers,

Álex

Not exactly mainstream media, but the “Signal contingency plan” has been featured in a few podcasts Signal Contingency Plan (Delta Chat with Fanny and Mary) | KPFA and Signal Contingency Plan (Delta Chat with Fanny and Mary) | The Final Straw Radio Podcast and picked some steam in the Fediverse. The plan recommends Delta Chat as the best alternative if/when Signal gets blocked in the US.

this one (KPFA) is in wikipedia so it might count: KPFA - Wikipedia

this one is not in Wikipedia, so you can’t claim DC to be relevant because it appears in this podcast when the podcast itself is not in wikipedia

FYI it has been drafted and deleted 2 times already: Deletion log - Wikipedia. Here is the last time: User talk:WofWca - Wikipedia. I’m not sure where to retrieve the text, maybe someone has saved on their personal page?

Related: Why is delta-chat not included in Wikipedia?.

Also I believe that German sources would also work for an English article.

I’m not sure how big WIkipedia considers Lifehacker to be, but it’s one of the biggest media I’ve seen talk about Delta Chat!

lifehacker has a larger wikipedia page itself and lots of reputation, so that is relevant, yes, thanks a lot.

when it comes to relevance, Delta Chat is also mentioned in the New York Times: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/31/world/europe/russia-internet-restrictions.html
