:test_tube: Help testing the upcoming v1.43.X release

The time has come for a new Desktop Release! :tada: Help us find the most
annoying bugs so we can make sure this update is ready to be released on
the website and in stores. :muscle:

Release Highlights

:heart: Send emoji reactions for messages
:arrows_counterclockwise: New Account Switcher sidebar with notification management
:bellhop_bell: Get notified for all your accounts
:gear: Improved settings dialog
:sparkles: A whole bunch of refactorings, improvements and bugfixes

Due to the electron update macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) and macOS 10.14 (Mojave) are no longer supported, macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later is the new requirement.

  • Create new accounts with chatmail and with normal login and start conversations (scanning QR codes etc.)
  • Send reactions
  • Switch between accounts, change settings

Please report the found bugs either here in this forum topic or even better
as issue on GitHub.

Downloads

Important: please backup your current setup (or most important accounts)
before upgrading in order to be safe when trying test-releases. You can
find this option under Settings > Chats and Media > Backup.

You can test the flatpak build here:

flatpak install --user https://dl.flathub.org/build-repo/85320/chat.delta.desktop.flatpakref

It currently still crashes when clicking on notifications.

I think I solved the notification crash in flatpak, please test it:

flatpak install --user https://dl.flathub.org/build-repo/86922/chat.delta.desktop.flatpakref

since we had an issue with building the downloadable (non-store) releases for deltachat desktop we have 1.44.1 now: Release Progress `v1.44.1` 💫 · Issue #3731 · deltachat/deltachat-desktop · GitHub

It also fixes 2 bugs.

Hi :wave:,

Fyi, this issue has been encountered after most recent upgrade to 1.44.1
(I wonder if it could be related to it or if that is an issue with mail provider).
Please let me know if i could provide with additional information.

:white_check_mark: The issue from GitHub has been closed after realizing the steps to reproduce it
would repair the remote ?phantom :ghost: state of my folders synced over IMAP:

  • re-creating folders logged as missing by Delta Desktop instance
  • deleting them while having Delta Desktop instance focused
  • enjoying logs not getting stuck as previously seen
