The communism drama can be followed here: "The Communist Manifesto" in xstore?. The app was added in this MR, by a person who has write permissions to the repo, and removed in this commit.
Some more apps were recently removed See git-add(1) for details. If diff.orderFile is., by the same person who added them.
Otherwise I don’t recall cases of outside contributors’ apps getting rejected or removed (this is not an invitation to try).
For the future, consider alternative stores. One can change the store in iOS and Android Delta Chat settings (not so much on Desktop currently though). Some examples:

- WebXDC Apps Explorer - this one has no moderation at all, apart from what’s imposed by GitHub and Codeberg (forum post New WebXDC app store: GitHub / Codeberg search wrapper page)
