More options for disappearing messages

I tried to add “1 year” instead of “90 days” which looks weird after “5 weeks” option, but sadly core only supports up to “X weeks” style of system messages so the “1 year” is displayed as “disappearing messages set to 52.1 weeks” so this will need changes in Delta Chat core and not just adding the option to android

for the record, the just released android 2.11.0 has the option “After 1 Year” already - iOS and Desktop will follow :slight_smile:

I wonder if there might be 90 day (13 weeks) timer or 6 month (26 weeks) added to the options? Jump from 5 weeks to 1 year is a big one. But 1 year is better than only 5 weeks max

yeah, one can argue for a lot of time spans. but just wondering is not enough :slight_smile: i add an argument: “3 months” come to mind as whatsapp is using that as well. this was also discussed above, but then i became “1 year”. we surely iterate over the options at some point, and user feedback will play a role, but for now, the current set is quite okay. there are larger fishes to get :slight_smile:
