When sending invite links to people, we might want to recognize its possible use by many new contacts, for example if we make it available online.
Perhaps tagging it with “public” or something custom, for example “github” when we put the DeltaChat invite link at our Github profile.
I know currently DeltaChat focus on delivering solutions for friends & family, so this is just a naive proposal to clear my head around my idea to use DeltaChat for strangers to message me.
Expected behavior
The tag shown in the user’s name so i can recognize the user know me from that invite link.
Actual behavior
Of course i can ask the new person where they know me from, but they can just lie…?

I am also thinking about a default tag of invite links, as in default avatar profile or default name that just randomized.
Something like random name of fruits, perhaps? So we will have “banana” invite link, “durian” invite link, and so on.
And with that the need of invite links management section where we can edit the tags, see which users invited via each invite links, and revoke just some invite link. I see currently we only have reset invite link.
I suggest you create a new DC profile for each platform you share on and then invite over new joiners to your collective community profile from there. You can close the profile after you either receive spam or once every month. No need to tag invite links with this workflow.
