It would be very useful to be able to mark one or more chat as read, after having opened them. On the drop -down menu, however, I find only the option “scores as a read”. Thank you
Hello, Polin79! You seem to have blanked your post. Would you like this topic deleted?
Hi Minim,
Sorry there was a mistake: now it’s OK.
Thanks
Paolo
There are unread messages counter and ‘down’ button - isn’t that enough?
If I opened a chat and for example the text is too long and I want to put the chat in unread state to remind me to read later I think it’s good. In Telegram and Whatsapp I could do that
Oh, you want a pseudo “up” button; marking something you have read as unread. I can see the use of that. You could also save a message to saved chats, but that isn’t the same.
So in your original post, where you say “read” I think you mean “unread”. Is that right?
Yes, I mean for example when I receive a message in a chat I open the chat and I see that the message is too long and I don’t have time to read it and I want to read it later, so I put it in unread state
Okay, I’ve retitled the thread (feel free to change the title again if you want). Manually setting the read status of a message from “read” to “unread” is a fairly unobjectionable functionality, and I should think it might well get added to a future version (you will get a notification if this thread is marked “solved”).
Unfortunately, the devs are rather short on resources at the moment, and they are trying to do a lot.
Perfect, many thanks
existing feature proposal about marking chats as unread: Mark Chat as Unread
Oh yes, I’m missing this feature a lot every day! Can’t wait to see an update here and would even add to a crowdfunding for such a feature if it’s “only” a question of dev resources.
I don’t know how much effort it would take, but some of the people on the forum would know better.
There are multiple donation methods here (with much lower fees than your average crowdfunding site); the devs might be okay with earmarked donations, if agreed upon in advance.
Good. What can be done or has already been done with regard to such agreements on this or other issues? I would be grateful for references to relevant information.
I do not know of any such arrangement in the past, whence my subjunctive phrasing in both paragraphs. ![]()
@adbenitez, I know you’re involved in developing new features. Can you tell User8525 if their desire to sponsor a feature is at all practical?
