In the current version, screen sharing can indeed be achieved through Jitsi on both desktop and mobile devices.
However, I envision that on mobile, if there were a one-click screen sharing button or a WebXDC that could instantly start sharing upon a click, without the need to navigate to a webpage or enter a username, it would be much more convenient.
This need becomes particularly acute when I’m remotely trying to guide my elderly father through issues he’s having with his phone.

Current obstacles:
- webxdc apps have no way to request permissions, see Allow access to camera, geolocation, other Web APIs
- webxdc apps cannot run in background on Android. See another app prototype that would benefit from the background thing: I made a video call app (WITHOUT 15-second ping this time). But TBH I’m not even sure if this is possible. I do not recall a video calling app that can work in a browser in the background.
